THE PLOT:
The much awaited July 4th weekend has arrived, but in the mist of celebrating and relaxing comes party crashers. Alien creatures
from a distant Galaxy have arrived and positioned ships over several major capitals around the world. Including Washingtom
D.C. and Los Angeles.
While everyone is hoping is the Aliens will be friendly, a worker at a Satalight TV server David Levinson discovers a
hidden signal inside the transmition which was the cause of the mysterious interference.
David discovers that this transmission is a countdown to a major attack on the Earth and must warn the President and his
ex-wife who is the President's aid.
Once the attack begins, it is without mercy. Our counter attack is less then perfect. For the aliens have protective
shields. Now the question becomes, how to stop these creatures from wiping us out?
ZEDD'S OPINION:
The best damn movie about aliens attack during the fourth of July weekend ever. The only movie about aliens invading during
the fourth of July weekend, just kidding. One of the best alien invasion movies ever. Not a buried treasure, this movie
is almost as big as Titanic. There's this speech near the end by the President, best damn inspirational speech I ever heard.
Made me feel like jumping into a plane and kicking ass with him. A classic science fiction that goes up there with the
fifties WAR OF THE WORLDS. I give it...10 STARS!
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd, as for the effects. The CGI was
perfect, it looked like there was a giant alien ship menacing Los Angeles and when it fired, it looked like they really
destroyed the White House. The aliens were creeepy and scary looking design, the most unique monsters I've seen for a long
time. There was some minor character issues on the CIA creep. But other then that, it was a perfect movie. I too give it
10 STARS!
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURES (The creature is some of the most unique and coolest we've seen in a long time.)
+ CHARACTERS (Most of the characters were likable.)
+ STORY (Unique story makes it cool.)
+ EFFECTS (Very impressive special effects. The best in some time.)
+ FINAL SPEECH (Without giving it away, it was cool.)
...AND FINALLY...
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- CIA GUY (That CIA guy and his stupid plans to stop the aliens got annoying after awhile.)
