THE PLOT:
A small town is being terrorized by tiny slug like monsters. The alien invertebrates infect two main people in the town,
a guy named Grant and a girl. The girl is full of slugs monsters that quick take over almost everyone in town.
Now a handful of people are up against the walking dead with slugs in control and if not stopped the invasion will consume
the world.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
I got to admit that this is a fun movie, in the lines of the B-Classic NIGHT OF THE CREEPS. In fact, there are similarities
in the plot. But that where the similarities end. This is it's own movie and it does a great job. It's gory without loosing
direction on the story, it's spooky without losing substance. The characters are well written and the story works. The creature
effects are brilliant and the humor is dark. A little too dark at times. Now if you have a weak stomach, this may not be the
movie for you. The pretty girl loses her looks quickly when she's full of slugs and when she explodes. YUCK! But that's a
minor complaint, the story works and the effects are incredible. That's all you need to know, it's a great watch and I recommend
you slither on over to the nearest video store and pick up a copy of SLITHER. 8 STARS
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree on the story and the effects, but I don't agree with the characters. Not all of them, some of the characters were
really unlikable in several ways. Anyone who sees it will know which characters I am referring to. Also, I'm not one for
totally gross effects, so I will have to give it 6 out of 10.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ SLUG LIKE MONSTERS (The slug creatures are pretty cool.)
+ STORY (The story works well.)
+ CHARACTERS (Most of the characters were well written.)
+ EFFECTS (The gore effects are impressive.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- CHARACTER ISSUES (Some of the characters were not very likable.)
- EWWWW (Some of the effects will make you go ewwww!)
...AND FINALLY...
- NOT FOR EVERYONE (If you are sensitive to really gross things, like people exploding with millions of slug monsters, then
this isn't for you.)
